Well it's certainly there, irrespective of message view, in .8 - I thought it was in .77 to be honest. It's in the window title bar, not in the window itself.

File transfer is suspicious at best - but that's dealt with by the libgaim boys and girls, not Adium.

Please, search the forum using the button at the top. There are many, many threads about file transfer.

Hmm, weird. Tried the usual trick of moving Adium from the dock and re-adding it after you've changed the icon?

You have to wait with 0.77.

With 0.8 (beta is here) I believe you can initiate them.

Very, very sweet. But I can barely tell the difference between some of them on my screen...

File transfer will have a proper GUI in 0.8 (currently in beta - test it here). It's pretty sweet.

As for whether it works or not - there can be many causes of problems, one the most common reasons being when either you are or your contact is behind a router and/or firewall.

How about trying the 0.8 beta?

You can't exchange files between Adium and msn for mac. The official msn client for os x is.... lacking in features, and only has an older version of the msn file transfer protocol. As I recall, anyway.

You can swap files with msn for Windows, or any other libgaim-based clients.

Try deleting (or moving): ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/libgaim while Adium isn't running. It may take two relaunches of Adium before your contacts show up, in my experience, but the icons should be reset. As you're using AIM, chances are none of your contacts will have icons...

That's a pretty funky bug. Unbelievably annoying, but funky nonetheless.

That's a good idea.

It's a great concept.

I'd suggest a list, with +/-/Edit buttons. Like in Adium's status prefs.
