Re: Show offline
I think I have seen this reported before. MSN (or Windows Live Messenger as it’s been known as more recently) is on the way out, I would recommend switching to a different chat service.

Re: how to delete this forum acc?
Hi,
I can delete your account for you if you want. I think the board software doesn’t allow for deletion of your own account out of the box.

Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?
Adium 1.5.10 which was released yesterday does not fix this Yahoo connection issue, only the excessive CPU use. The "it's Yahoo's fault" thing would make sense if Pidgin broke too. But that's why people are frustrated -- no one is really explaining anything. From what I’ve gathered and as ...

Re: How to disable/revert auto join for chat?
Hello, We might be onto a bug here. Like you, I would expect the auto-joining to stop when the bookmark is deleted. There are two other ways of setting up auto-joining though, maybe you kept one of those in place? - In Preferences - General, do you have „Reopen chats from last time at startup“ set? ...

Re: Meaning of two areas of status menu?
The answers to your questions are indeed not answered by the documentation, I believe. The upper part is a list of statuses of the „available“ type – also indicated by the green status icons –, the lower part is a list of statuses of the „away“ type - also indicated by the red status icons. As far a...

Re: Auto Hide / Bring Forth
This is a known issue probably caused by AppNap, a feature new in Mavericks: https://trac.adium.im/ticket/16547. Disabling AppNap for Adium in the Finder should do the trick.

I read that blog post the other day. Yes, it seems likely the added encryption has something to do with the connection issues.

Re: comment spamming @ adiumxtras.com
Yes, it is. Feel free to "burninate“ spammers. I think you’re seeing the checkbox because I asked the Project Manager a while ago to make you "Moderator" on the site.
I hope there’ll be some progress regarding anti-spam measures soon.

Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?
The thread you linked is from January and February. I am not convinced the issue reported there is the same one we are facing. I am so hoping that the Adium experts can figure out what Yahoo has done since Yahoo refuses to be helpful. As I tried to convey in my previous post, we are quite certain we...

Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?
Here’s some info for the technically inclined from https://trac.adium.im/ticket/16678: The debug log here was quite helpful, and I think I've found the issue: CDSA gives us error -9816, which is errSSLClosedNoNotify, which means the server closed the connection without shutting down the TLS connecti...

That’s probably just a coincidence. The Skype plugin is not stable. Please take it up with the author, we don’t support it.

Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?
I've been out of this convo for a couple days, but as of this post the latest beta instantly connects to all my yahoo accounts. If you read back in this thread, you will find that the connection working on and off is a common theme and it’s due to the Yahoo servers. Was something fixed on the Adium...

Re: How to follow a ticket without commenting on it
That’s a very good question and I’d welcome the solution. Yes, currently you can only subscribe by commenting and a small comment saying "cc" is fine for the time being. Pidgin Trac has a "cc" button (see https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/16172 at the very bottom), I think it’s ...

Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?
1.5.11 will fix this issue, we're onto something. Any chance you can share the technical details? More than a few of us in here are developers, albeit not in the Adium/libpurple community. I would love to know what has been going on and how you found it. Thanks! Will do. This is the biggest problem...

Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?
Fixing the cpu problem doesn't really solve a problem, considering that the entire product fundamentally doesn't work. Having Adium try to connect all day without having it totally consume my CPU isn't any more useful than not using it at all, which is the current state of affairs. Yahoo is just on...
