This pertains to the latest beta, but it seems to have been the case forever that AIM contacts cannot see my custom icon. Using 2 different accounts, my Adium account can see the icon for my iChat account, but not the other way around. On iChat (and apparently for all of my friends), all that shows...

You can either use file transfer to send photos to someone or send inline pictures over DirectConnect (AIM-only).
