Indeed, in the Dock panel of the preferences, there are two options which control whose names show up in the dock.

In the next version, there will be a LOT more control over blinking and whatnot. It's a common request. :)

Adium stores all of its contact list information (who's in what groups, for example) on the servers for each service -- so if something is wrong in that department, it's because it's that way on the servers. You'll have to move the contacts around by hand.

It seems odd to me that someone wouldn't think "hmm, I want another account, I'll go to "Account preferences". Hey I want a new account, maybe I should click +.... etc. :) We are moving the account management into its own window in .80 ("Accounts" in the Adium AND Status me...

Indeed, AppleScript in Adium is very basic and definitely unfinished. That's all I can really say though, as our priorities are elsewhere at the moment. There WILL be better support sometime in the future.

General rules for SVN: Make sure you're fully updated. If it doesn't work, Clean the active target and rebuild. Failed? Clean All and rebuild. Still failed? SVN is meant to be broken. It's likely that someone committed some changes and they didn't totally work. Such is life... you can always use an ...

The point was, "here's how you can actually have two AIM accounts at once!" as opposed to "yes, you can."

To actually be helpful: Go to the Account panel of the Preferences (under the Adium menu), and click the "+" to make a new account. Make sure it's set to AIM in the Account Type menu. Enter your info. Click connect. Voila! It will also show up in the File menu.

As the To-Do list says, we really need to make it so that you can run Adium with no blinking. Maybe not remove the capability entirely, but be able to turn it off. I'd love that. :)

G4 and G5 optimization basically helps with: 1) Things that could use AltiVec -- i.e. crazy math operations. We don't do a lot of heavy math. 2) Things which would benefit from being 64-bit optimized (G5's) -- definitely nothing in Adium. 3) Some graphics code -- but the code would probably not be a...

You are welcome to build your own G4 or G5 optimized build, but as Brian noted, you won't see much difference (really, you will probably feel NO difference -- we just don't have any code that can be optimized that way). For those reasons, we will not be releasing optimized builds of Adium -- it's un...

Alas, I believe those icons (and the feature that enabled them) died with Adium .63. The Great Contact List Rewrite of .70 removed them.

Makes sense, although some themes look much better with the middle-aligned names. Perhaps we could have the names top-aligned when the CL theme shows status messages on a separate line, and middle-aligned in other cases.

I doubt we'd use that library anyhow. No reason to use a library that ONLY works on one protocol when gaim-vv (however slowly they may be progressing) will presumably work on at least the "big three." We should wait and use their work when it's done, instead of doing a halfway job now.

We don't support creating MSN group chats in .76, only joining them. (Then you can invite others by right-clicking on their name in the contact list.) We DO have better MSN chat support for the next version though.

I'd like to see the chat implemented as well. Not aim chat, but true irc. We've talked about this before, and IRC is significantly different from our current messaging services. It would require a lot of work under the hood, cause lots of interface troubles, and we could never be a full-featured IR...
