And just so as to NOT get anyone's hopes up... we haven't really implemented webcam support at ALL yet. There's nothing working in source, and nobody is actively working on it. Sorry.

We support email notifications already because certain services -- such as MSN and Yahoo! -- tie your account to your email address. I think that it's silly to check even THOSE email addresses, but at least it makes some sense there. But it is not our job to let you do whatever you want with your em...

That would have to be an OS problem, not an Adium problem -- we don't control where menus actually appear onscreen.

1) Hold down option while in the File menu. Voila!
2) You can't SET an animated icon in Adium (it's a limitation of the Apple Image Picker, alas), but you CAN see them.

Sure, those are just more specific caches. They usually operate at a faster speed than RAM, so FREQUENTLY-used things are stored there.

If you mean ~/Library/Caches, that's a different matter -- that's a persistent cache for programs to use across launches. For example, Safari caches images from pages you've visited so that if you ever visit that page again, it doesn't have to reload the whole image. I was speaking of things that on...

OS X is sort of RAM hungry, but part of that is because OS X caches EVERYTHING in RAM. That is, if you used it once and there's ANY possibility a program may want it again, there it stays. The OS is good about cleaning out unused data when RAM gets filled. But until then, it *appears* that you're us...

Tick's point was that Adium shouldn't be trying to re-add people you've removed. We need to fix THAT bug, then the dialog really is stupid. :)

You do realize... we're not an email client! :P

If you want to check your email after logging in, I highly recommend logging into Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail and doing so. But it's really not Adium's purpose to be an email app.

As for an editor, we'd sure like it too. :) It's a big project but someone was at least thinking about it a while ago... not sure about any progress though.
