This is a bug with QT Player in QTX. Use any other player, such as NicePlayer, or QuickTime Player 7.

movie2itunes is not associated with us and as such we don't support it. Try contacting the appropriate developer.

Make sure you have "load external subtitles" checked in the prefs and that you don't have any of the obsolete components listed in http://www.perian.org/#support

Otherwise, posting the srt file is necessary to diagnose further.

There's your problem. Mostly likely, the permissions on /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components or ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components (if you installed for all users or the current one, respectively) is incorrect.

I'd say try only using the main thread and see if things crash. If that works and you need the main thread to be accessible, you could try starting a child process which does the QT stuff and communicates with the UI via distributed objects or something like that.

Never ever do anything QT related on any thread other than the main one. This is documented in QT.
