The LPGL and GPL allow you to build and release your own versions as you see fit as long as the source for those builds is available. If you didn't modify from SVN, then you should be good on that count.scrns15 wrote:I'm sure a mod will remove this if its against policy or something

Re: Subtitles - Default Encoding
Perian does it's best to guess the file's encoding based on the characters used in the file. If you believe it is guessing incorrectly, you can always open the file in a text editor and save it using a different encoding (such as UTF-8).

Re: Exporting Movie with Subtitles Removes Video
If you're just doing exporting to a format that'll play on the ATV (I'm assuming you're not wanting to hack your ATV), then I'd recommend just using FFmpeg (there are GUI front-ends for the mac, just don't pay for one since there are free ones). Not only is it designed for this exact use, but it's l...

No. You want it so bad, the source code is available. Build it yourself.iVain wrote:Is there a way I can get a beta release?

Re: AC3 no audio issue. No other AC3 components present.
Sorry to waste your time on something that was essentially a user encoding error then. Maybe, but maybe not. I could be that removal of the sync code is considered valid in MKV given that mkvmerge knew to insert them or it could be invalid MKV. In my statement about the sync code being required, I ...

Re: AC3 no audio issue. No other AC3 components present.
It seems the AC3 packets provided in the MKV file are missing the AC3 sync code, which is required. Running the file through mkvmerge produces a file which is correct.

Re: FFMPEG 0.6 released
The subtitles with m4v aren't read because Perian doesn't read the m4v files, QuickTime does.
Subtitles within Frontrow are a Frontrow bug.
FFmpeg has nothing to do with either of these, so no.
All of this is easily found with a google search.
