Won't work yet because Quicktime reads the .mov files instead of Perian. It only works with .avi files because Perian reads them in.

Open System Preferences -> Perian (at the bottom) -> and select the General tab (if not already selected). Hit "Remove Perian" and after it competes, the only piece of Perian remaining is the preference pane. This can be removed by going back to the show all, and right-click (or cntrl-click) on Peri...

b/c iTunes is limiting itself to certain filetypes. It sees that you are trying to open a .flv file in it, and it says, "Hmm.. is flv one among this list that never changes and the user has no input on? No, ok, reject it." Nothing perian nor anyone can do about it except modifying the iTunes binary ...

I thought you were asking if you could remove it. You still need it in the sense don't remove it, but Perian also installs it so you don't need to download it. That clear things up?

Perian 1.0 installs the latest A52Codec, so the answer is still yes.

I had the same. I removed the group, and the whole group along with the buddies re-appeared. Did it a second time, and it seems to have stuck.

Your mileage may vary.

There are several problems with passthrough. The most notable is the fact that a vast majority of divx/xvid is in avi files. AVI cannot handle B frames in any sensible manner, making any kind of passthrough a nightmare. Playback alone is difficult enough in this situation. As far as the iPod goes, y...

And BTW, never say never, it doesn't get done by then and Prian is still around (:)), when I have enough coding skills I will probably just do it myself. (It shouldn't be to difficult, just parsing some XML and playing a bunch of movies in a row) I didn't say never! I simply stated that the develop...

BTW, .asx files currently play through Flip4Mac, and only the first movie in the sequence plays.

On a side note, we have much more pressing concerns than asx files. Don't expect this for a long time, if ever.

Sorry about the tangent, but I feel this must be answered. There are some key things you are missing about Adium development. Adium is open source and free. The developers have absolutely no obligation to appease their users in any way. For the most part, OSS developers create their apps for themsel...

Re: New user, cannot connect to AIM network

Greetings! I was using Fire and decided to check out Adium after learning that the dev team came over here. Yep, I am one such developer. There was a bug in some of the fire configuration import code, which has since been resolved. If you did the fire import when the bug was present, it could be re...

one possible solution i was thinking of... was that i heard that the never-to-be-released Fire 2.0 would allow saving the ICQ buddies back to the server. if i ran Fire 2.0 then saved the buddies.... would Adium 1.0.1 then be able to import the Fire 2.0 info? Yes. It uses the 2.0 information over th...

Actually, it does import the buddy list, but there is a reason why it does not seem to work. Adium has no concept of a local buddy list without being connected to the server, and as such, it doesn't attempt to synchronize what it has in the buddy list with what is on the server on connect. So, the b...

A bug which cause exactly the same symptoms (likely the same bug you are hitting) was fixed the day that the image for 1.0.1 was being uploaded to the download site. Expect a fix for this in 1.0.2.
