Try out the Adium X 0.8 beta (adiumx.com/beta.html)...it has a full file transfer interface ("download manager" of sorts) and you can choose to save your files wherever you want. And 0.8 is way better than .77 anyway

Yeah, Adium was more customizable than Adium X; however, privacy prefs are a pretty standard feature of an IM client and I'm sure they will make a return in Adium X at some point. Blocking was just the first step.

No, I think it's okay; the devs do it on occasion, and if there are going to be multiple threads about scrolling being broken, then it's reasonable to post information like that in each of the threads. Some people only check certain threads.

The Log Viewer is more inconvenient to use for quick pasting jobs, since it takes a couple seconds to open, and if you want to keep pasting things from an ongoing conversation, you have to close and reopen to the Log Viewer to make it refresh (I think).

Which plist? While there are just one or two in ~/Library/Preferences, there are dozens in ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0. You might want to move that folder somewhere else (so that Adium creates a fresh one) to see if there's a corrupted plist in there, if you haven't done so already.

You can double-click her name in your contact list, which will bring up those two pop-up menus at the top of the message window, where you can select which accounts to send from and to. Unfortunately, you'd have to do this each time you wanted to switch which account you were IMing her with. I don't...

Yeah, it was Adium 1.x, then Adium 2.0 (naturally) which was never really formally released. Instead, they created a new versioning system and name, Adium X, and started at version .50.

It was originally Adium CK, which is a combination of the words AIM and Duck. The CK was later dropped to avoid confusion.

It's mind-boggling to me how some people (Windows users) don't care that a piece of software is doing stuff like that on their computer without their permission. But I guess they're used to that, being Windows users

The best way is often Cmd-Shift-4, which lets you then drag a rectangle, and it just takes a picture of this rectangle. Or if you hit Cmd-Shift-4 and then the space bar, you can then click on any window to get a pic of just that window.
