The command line project that OhPhoneX uses, OpenH323, is MPL (Mozilla Public License)...are there any significant differences between that and the GPL?

I still have my copy of Adium 1.6.x online: http://members.cox.net/fredhope2000/Adium 1.6.x.zip Sorry, couldn't get it to properly hyperlink the whole thing; you'll have to copy and paste. edit: actually, would http://members.cox.net/fredhope2000/Adium%201.6.x.zip be the same thing? edit 2: yep, it ...

How do you know it'll be out within 10 days? Everything I've read (all the rumors) says second half of April.

Yeah, I agree, a feature like the one I mentioned of gaim (which is basically what you're talking about, a table (a dictionary, in programming terms) of words to replace with other words) would be great. You just conjured up some bad MS Word memories, that's all ;).

Grr, I want to take a shotgun to whatever PC I'm using when MS Word tries to change my shit around. But as long as it's a pref, then whatever (it's supposedly a pref in Word too but they've hidden it really cleverly, maybe they have a deal with the shotgun industry ). ...though I think that's ...

Have you looked through your prefs (specifically, Contact List) to make sure that the "buddy is typing" status is "turned on" and set to a particular color?

It shows it in the message tab (very bottom of the window), and in your contact list. If you have "Always show tab bar" (in Advanced prefs) turned off, then you won't see any indication in the message window, only in the contact list. There have been requests to have it show the little bub...

I wonder what they'd think if this one poll, for no apparent reason, got hundreds more votes than any of their other polls. They might think something was up, but it'd still be fun to see the poll live in infamy on their site stats page.

Adium poll: 500
Other polls: 0wned

The site's record number of votes in a poll is 83. Just 13 more to go for us to beat that! ;)

That looks loads better; great job. The progress bar looks kind of odd just sitting down there when it isn't active, but maybe a lot of apps are like that. Also, when you push the Plus button, the "Please Specify A Name for Your Away" shouldn't be red. Red text would be used if, for exampl...

vote for Adium at mac.byu.edu

The BYU Macintosh Users Group has a poll about your preferred IM client (right-hand side, 1/3 of the way down). Adium is currently in the lead by a bit, but there have only been 61 votes. Head over there and vote!

Command-slash is the general Adium keyboard shortcut for hiding/showing the contact list, BTW. Since it's a toggle, you might have to hit it twice in a row if you suddenly have the desire to hide your contact list: once to bring the list to the foreground ("in front of" the message window,...

Yeah, I'm not as much of a metal-hater as some, but I think Aqua is best in most cases. Some apps use metal "just because" but Aqua is probably more popular and looks better in general.

To clarify the "add yourself to yourself" thing, that's basically correct. Your screen name is just like anyone else's; it would only show up if it's actually on your buddy list. So you have to add your screen name to your buddy list (just like you have to add other people's screen names) ...

So did the "Do It" button become "Cycle"? If so, I don't think it's that clear that that's how you "click OK," so to speak (i.e. normally the "OK button" is blue, whereas your Cycle button is just one of several various buttons). And if "Hide" will d...

Yeah, you did, my bad, my "is that even a word" comments were directed at my own sentence, not yours. I always mix up messaging and messenging (the latter not being a word, I assume) so it's my fault.
