Actually, I believe on MSN you can see people whom you have blocked. I dunno about seeing people who have you blocked, but it makes sense if that "Blocked:" thing is about whether or not you have them blocked.

David Munch: indeed; it used to be called Adium CK, which was formed by rearranging the letters of "AIM Duck." So far I like the InstantGaimer-related names as well as the idea of totally unrelated names (makes it sound more creative, less generic). Personally I think I need a break from i...

Shipping .8 with multiple language support would be awesome. .8 already has a ton of new features, so we may as well let the rest of the world in on this new version as well.

Yeah, so couldn't you retain it, so that when it's autoreleased, its retain count is 1 (rather than 0), and thus it isn't dealloc'ed?

Much better, Durandal :D and there shouldn't be a semi-colon at the end either, right? Since it's a preprocessor define, not a standalone statement.

To clarify: the Users folder has all of the Adium "user accounts"...normally you just have one, the default user. This is different from accounts like your MSN or AIM account. I think settings for the specific accounts are in Adium 2.0/Users/default/Accounts/ and Adium 2.0/Users/default/Ac...

I think Adium should do the same as the official clients when it comes to email. The server informs the client that there's email, right? And I think this only happens when you first sign on. So this should be how Adium does it.

So how do you make that emacs adventure game come up? As some of you may know, I've written an adventure game or two myself, and I enjoy playing them.

I wouldn't have said anything, but non-devs always have the right to point out Cocoa syntax errors of devs :D

Indeed it sucks that you're leaving, Brian, but congrats on your job of course, and I hope you'll be able to stop by on occasion, as zerock mentioned.

I've got a com.adiumX.adium.plist in addition to the aforementioned two, but that might be leftover from an older release.

Slightly on-topic question: sometimes I think of the Yahoo! icon as being that red Y, but other times I think of the smiley guy with the really wide-open mouth. So which is it, and what's the difference? Does the Y represent the protocol and the service (Yahoo in general) and the smiley represents t...

You can't export your buddy list file with Adium, but you can do it in AIM. Sign onto the old screen name in AIM. Go to File --> Export... and save your buddy list file. Then sign onto AIM in the new screen name, go to File --> Import..., and import in your old buddy list.

Does it crash every time you do this? Or was it just once? If it just happened once, it was probably just a random crash, caused by something or other, so just make sure you send in the report (Adium Crash Reporter should open itself when Adium crashes) when that happens. If it happens every time yo...

While I do side with the "no nightly builds" side, Durandal, I think you were a little unfair to SuperJeremy3000. He specifically said that he wanted the nightlies because his computer is slow and takes a long time to build. You then proceeded to talk to him like he was a n00b with no comp...

submit Adium X .76 to apple.com downloads

On Apple's Mac OS X third-party downloads page, Adium X .73 is listed. The page to submit apps is here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/submit/ I think one of the devs should submit the latest version of Adium, since it's already listed on there but in an older version. I made a thread similar...
