The way I usually do it is, find the svn program on your hard drive (look in /usr/ by doing Cmd-Shift-G in the Finder, and all of the subfolders of /usr/), then use Terminal to copy it to /usr/bin/. For example, if svn is in /usr/local/bin/, you would open Terminal and type: sudo cp /usr/local/bin/s...

You can set Adium so that it doesn't log your messages. In the Preferences (Adium menu --> Preferences...) go to the Messages pane, then near the bottom there is an option for logging your messages. Click it so that the blue checkmark is gone.

However, I just tried this (AIM account) and it worked fine. sf51, what protocol (AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, etc.) are you using?

The other person can't see the results of your Latex equation though, right? (Unless they use Latex as well.)

Good luck making any sense of the ridiculously huge Adium Xcode project. Seriously, someone needs to write a book on what the hell is going on in there.

Once you have the accounts set up and listed in the Accounts pref pane, you can select any account from the File menu to log on. You can log onto as many accounts as you want at the same time.

In Prefs --> Status pane --> Away tab, just select each message that you don't want, and hit Delete or click the minus symbol beneath the list.

There's no way to hide the away or idle contacts, but you can sort them to the bottom of each of your groups. Go to View menu --> Sort Contacts --> by Status, and, optionally, Configure Status Sort....

What's wrong with Cmd-semicolon? It goes through and highlights the first misspelled word it comes to. And if you want to make it really easy, just turn on Check Spelling As You Type, so that it automatically underlines misspelled words. What exactly do you want to do?

I don't think I've seen that window before in OS X (you have to push Cmd-Shift-; to get it, since a colon is made using the Shift key). I prefer Cmd-; for basic spell-checking.
