Had same error of: Adium "could not connect to authentication server: Socket is not connected"
Changed the Port to 80 and works! Adium programmers were no help. Thanks for your post meganlibrarian.

Try This
http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?p=91347 Evidently there's an issue with a new Apple Update and your firewall. I was able to login on a PC using Miranda, but both Macs using Adium say no go. So try changing your port to 80 in Adium Prefs. Adium isn't going to give you any assistance here.....

Crashes on multi-file upload
I posted a ticket w/o reply - Trying here. I'm seeing the Duck crash when I attempt to upload (SFTP) multiple files to seperate directories. I can load one at a time all day. As soon as I get antsy and try to publish 3 files to seperate dirs.... EHHH crash. Not happy, by the way. Nothing a martini w...
