I have my contact list hide of the screen, and sometimes it just doesn't show up. Try this:

Go to Adium>Window

Instead of clicking "Show Contact List", press the keyboard shortcut, Command-/ while the menu is still open.

Adium actually remembers each contact's own window pref. So this only works for each individual contact. I like having three conversations or so on the side of the screen, and then I can never get everyone's windows the same size. Also anytime somebody new messages me i have to go through the hassle...

Does anybody know how to set the default message window size?

(whether it be in the code or if there's a setting)

I personally like non-tabbed messaging, and its an absolute bugger to resize every window that pops up.

It seems to me that you can only get one or the other (alphabetized or status) in Adium. Is there anyway to have my contact list sorted first...
