SMTP? I wasn't talking about an email client but about Adium. It used to notify me about new email in my AIM account but it doesn't work anymore... Check Adium -> Preferences -> AIM account -> Options. There isn't any SMTP setting or whatever. By the way, I am not using a PROXY if that matters.

I searched but found nothing related either here or in the bug track system, so... For me, new emails for my AIM account (email@aim.com) stopped working since Adium version 1.4 or 1.4.1 (latest version that I am using now). Tried to disable and re-enable it, no deal... If someone can confirm this an...

There was. I filled one but it was marked as duplicated of #507. And its resolution is set to *fixed*, but it doesn't seem to work here.

A Hotmail account allows you to use MSN Messenger, and you mentioned AOL in your first message. AOL's messenger is AIM. You can't add an AIM buddy to a MSN account.

Are you logged to your AIM/.Mac account? You can add buddies only while logged.
