Vienna 3 rc 2 console logging
With RC 2 I noticed the following entries in the Console – not clear what it means, and it might not be important at all: 29/07/2014 16:56:16,649 Vienna[407]: The FMDatabase <FMDatabase: 0x60000009ae00> is currently in use. 29/07/2014 16:56:16,844 Vienna[407]: Error calling sqlite3_step (1: cannot c...

Re: Release candidate 2 is out
One thing I’ve noticed with this release is increased memory usage - doubling - compared to rc 1 and older: E.g, if Vienna 3rc1 was using 125~130Mb of memory, under the same circumstances, rc2 uses 200~240Mb. Don’t look at the absolute values here, but at the relative one: doubling. System load is t...

Re: automatically deleting older messages
Vienna > Preferences > General tab: 'Move articles to the trash after'. This setting will move read articles to the trash automatically. The trash is emptied when you quit Vienna.

Re: Weird plist overridden
I just tried this out, and I don't think it does what Deimos wants. When I highlighted an article with the preference set to the non-default value, it didn't get marked read at all, which seems like the opposite of what is desired here. (I also kind of would like a shorter delay, but I've gotten us...

Re: Weird plist overridden
Which OS are you using? On 10.9.x (aka Mavericks) you have to logout (or even restart the machine) after editing those plist files directly for changes to take effect, as those settings are cached, I believe. But if you use the defaults command, that is not necessary (I think… haven’t had the need t...

Re: incomplete articles vienna
TUAW changed how their feed works (I guess to force the reader/viewer/… to enjoy the publicity on the site). You should complain to them if it annoys you.

Re: Vienna crashed
You probably need to activate the Japanese dictionary (I have two active in Dictionary.app, both standard to OS X)Echelon9 wrote:I followed those steps through to "Look up" but no results were found.
Note that I just tried again on the same post, same 2 kanji and Vienna didn't crash.

Re: Feature Request: Single button press to open in browser
When the article is selected (focussed), you can press the return key to open it in your default browser. No rodents needed! PS - there is a menu item for this, from the Article menu, 5th item ('View article page' or some such, I'm using Vienna in French), so you should be able to change the keyboar...

Re: Export various articles to epub/pdf
You can “print to PDF” through the standard Print menu, no ? Select all articles you want (or create a Smart folder…), then File > Print (and look at the lower left corner of the dialog!). The links embedded in the articles remain clickable. How nice the output is will of course depend on the active...

Typo in French translation
When a feed article contains an enclosure, Vienna shows a blue bar at the bottom, the ‘download’ button is translated as ‘téléchargen’ it should be ‘télécharger’. (last letter should be R instead of N).

Re: Blogger feeds fail to update
Hi There isn't such a folder named Vienna in the Library/Application Support... Are you sure you are looking at the right Library folder? That is the one in your user account, not the one at the root of the system. Assuming you are running 10.7 or 10.8, in the Finder, hold down the option key while...

Vienna 3b12 - weird display of article listing for macworld
In both Vertical and horizontal view, the article listings for the Macworld feed displays oddly. The ‘author’ field drops one line. In vertical view, this results in a 3-line entry. This worked fine in 3b11. See attached screenshot. I think this is because the xml has a line break inside the author ...

Re: Poll : keyboard
Apple did the job for you already: System Preferences > Keyboard Pane > Keyboard Shortcuts. Works perfectly fine with Vienna, so why duplicate the effort? Maybe I am missing something, but Keyboard Shortcuts does not allow you to assign one to individual keys Hmm, you right. Having never used G. Re...

Re: Poll : keyboard
'k' is already hardcoded in my muscle memory. If you change it, I won't be angry! I'll just customise it if needed (see below). The "best" solution would be to allow keyboard customization. Probably not an easy task. Apple did the job for you already: System Preferences > Keyboard Pane > K...
