This is probably a QT bug; Perian has no control over timing. (although I wish it did...) This especially applies if you can get it to happen with an xvid .mov/.mp4.

2.16GHz Core Duo can already play 10mbit 1080p pretty well, so yeah, probably.

(Although none of us have a Mini to benchmark on)

The 1.5 is the problem, not RAM size or number of cores. Absolutely nothing except the CPU speed affects this. Next version will run a lot better though.

Movie Time is written in a very inefficient way, it looks like. The easiest way would be to get him to fix it.

(it draws to screen in a very strange way and doesn't use the GPU at all...)

edit: some more checking, it only goes bad with subtitles on. Maybe it should use CoreVideo more.

EyeTV already installs a QuickTime component, I'm not sure why it doesn't play its own files with that.

I tried VLC with one of my recordings once and all the audio was out of sync :(
