Re: Displaying the enclosure as a link

DSClickableURLTextField's license is “May be used freely, but keep my name/copyright in the header.” Is this OK for inclusion in Vienna? While the link is clickable, it is not draggable and right-clicking it does not produce a menu. Should I submit the Vienna patch as it is, then make the necessary...

Re: Displaying the enclosure as a link

Peter, if you'd like to do continuing work on Vienna, we can talk about commit privileges. I think you can be trusted. Want to be the king of all mac open source? ;) On a different topic, since you're a Cocoaforge admin, could you please look at some weird RSS feed behavior? Your post doesn't appear...

Re: [BUG] The 5, 15 Minutes Options missing in German Version

Hi. Sorry about that. Those options seem to be missing in a number of localizations, including German. Vienna is developed in English and then localized into various languages by volunteers, so sometimes the localizations can fall behind the English version.

Re: Horrendous dupes - what's going on here?

The duplicates are articles in different feeds. For example, in your screenshot the 3 articles with the title "Confirmed: 2.2.1 iPhone APIs remain unchanged" come from the 3 feeds Ars Technica - Guides, Ars Technica - News, and Infinite Loop. In Vienna, you're looking at a folder "Ar...

Re: Feature Request: iPhone/iPod touch Vienna!

At present, Apple makes this pretty much impossible. The Vienna developers cannot discuss iPhone or iPod touch development without violating Apple's non-disclosure agreement for their iPhone Software Development Kit (SDK). Vienna is open source, but posting source code for a Vienna iPhone or iPod to...

Re: Re:

An odd thing, however: Before trying the LiveJournal FOAF to OPML import, I tried manually adding a feed. I wasn't prompted for a password, but I was still able to see the protected entries for that feed. What gives? Clearly my login state or password was cached somewhere that Vienna had access to,...

So, how can I request the ability to set user/pass on a multiple selection of feeds all at once? :) Like that. And, I'd also like to request that it understand 'outline description' as well as 'outline text' in an OPML file, if that's legal syntax, so I don't have to remember to edit the file by ha...

You can generate the OPML file I'm using - go to 'http://www.hungry.com/~fn/foaf.cgi' and enter 'foxmagic' as the username. When I try to import that into Vienna, it says '0 subscriptions successfully imported'. Thanks. If you open the opml file in TextEdit, you'll see this near the top: <body> <ou...

Re: Importing LiveJournal friend feeds into Vienna

I'm having trouble importing an OPML file of my LiveJournal friends into Vienna 2.2.2.2211 on Mac OS 10.5.2. I didn't know there was a 10.5.2! I select 'Import Subscriptions', select the file, then it tells me "0 subscriptions successfully imported". If you send your opml to the Vienna He...

One tips: Reading feed in Firefox is good. I cant help with the tabs in Vienna issues. But you can make firefox to stay in background when all the feeds you click on are bing open in a tab in firefox This way you can click on all the feeds that interest you and afterward start reading them in firef...

We wouldn't want the counts to get out of sync with reality, though.

I just committed this feature. It's very rudimentary right now, but it can be refined later. It returns a string containing the source of the current browser tab, or an empty string if it can't get the source. I used the following as a test script. tell application "Vienna" set this_source...

Eric,

I think I know how to do this in the code, but I don't know much about writing Applescripts. Could you provide a prototype script to demonstrate the syntax of how this would work? The html source would come as one long string.

By the way, the title of the article in the viewing pane is also a link to the article, so you can use a contextual menu on that.

kroc, Thanks for the suggestions! We'll make some additions to the wish list. A few comments: Do you have the reading pane on the right side?
