Re: MSN Error: Friendly name is changeing too rapidly
I have the same problem, and now I cannot come around it at all. I have tried to:
- uninstall
- reinstall
- downgrade
- upgrade
- remove all preferences
- remove all plugins
- created a new msn account - same problem
No matter which version I use, I have the same problem. I get this error ALL THE TIME. This makes ADIUM unusable and I have to switch to another client
Please check up on this. There must be a reason for this happening. And no, - i do not have the setting in my account set to update based on iTunes.

Update:
I solved this case!
When I looked more in detail into it, after another kind of tips from one of adiums developers, i noticed that adium was constantly in IDLE mode.
I created a new status;

After selecting this status, everything is back to normal.
So, somehow, my client got stuck in idle mode. I have no clue why and how, but after creating a new status, everything is back to normal.

Re: MSN Error: Friendly name is changeing too rapidly
A probable fix has been found: http://trac.adium.im/ticket/15364#comment:3. It will be in next week's beta.
Edit: I'll move this thread to the "beta" subforum as it appears the root cause is in the beta.
