Any way to migrate or import the FunMac topics here?

I don't see much reason too. Current problems will be reposted hopefully with more thought and detail; problems that are fixed shouldn't be brought up again. features added and features wanted again might be listed, again, with more detail; screen shot topics won't have pages and pages of old shots; and the reasons go on.
but the mighty admins will know what bring over if need be.
I love this emoticon:

Not without a great deal of work.Lyg wrote:Any way to migrate or import the FunMac topics here?
For starters, FunMac uses vB and cocoaforge uses phpBB. They both use SQL databases, but the structure is vastly different. I know of importers from phpBB-to-vB, but I don't know of any for vB-to-phpBB.
Let's just all enjoy the freshness of a new start... kinda like when we went from 1.6.x to .5 publicly and the world went upside down

if there are some for one way, then it couldn't be too hard for the opposite.

I agree with the fresh start. If any issues are still being discussed in the old forums, they're bound to be ported over here anyhow.
Its not worth bringing everything over here, most of the topics aren't being discussed anymore.
All in due time I suppose...

One thing that I would be cool now that the devs (at least I think) have a little bit more control it would be cool if there was a forum theme matching the adiumx and adium xtras sites, nice UI continuity on top of that, if it's in any way possible to make the search button nice and big, I think this would help to keep the fresh start..... fresh.
Here's a toast to the brave devs of Adium!

Along these lines, is there a way to turn on quick reply? So we can just type at the bottom of the topic thread like in the older forum?
And I very much agree. Making "search" very apparent would help people utilize it. That is, if its possible.
Thanks, advmis / devs.

We are just getting started here in the new forums. Give 'em time, a style is likely in the works, but IIRC we want to wait for phpBB 2.2 before making a style to make sure it's optimized and doesn't require re-inventing the wheel.
There's no quick-reply at this point in the forums, I don't think phpBB has it by default and a mod enabling it has not been added.
Search seems pretty visible right next to FAQ under the giant title
HTH.

oh yeah I'm in no way impatient it was just some things that I think would be cool now that there is a little more leeway.
As far as search goes, I was thinking something like having it be a giant flashing gif with Badger-badgers and instead of "Mushroom! Mushroom" it could be "Search Field Search Field!"

Uh, no badger gifs here... thanks
also - i doubt we'll see a topic import ... take it as a fresh start. time to achieve stupidly high poster numbers
