Client Identification

Post by Lunks »

Hi,
I'm a Miranda IM (h**p://www.miranda-im.org/) user and use the MSN protocol on it.
Miranda implemented a simple client identification thru MSN protocol. However, AdiumX is mistakenly identified as "Gaim/1.5.0".
Could this be changed to reflect the real client?
If there's any thing I could do to help, be welcome to ask.

I would think not due to Adium using libgaim (Gaim library) for it's MSN protocol.

I don't know exactly how it's being identified, but I believe this version info sent to other clients can be changed.

The string is specified that way in the libgaim code used by Adium. It would be possible to change it, although since Adium does use Gaim's code for connectivity, it also makes sense to report it as Gaim/1.5.0.

I've fixed it so that in the future this will show as libgaim/VERSION for Adium.
The duck still burns.
