Sending and Receiving files

Postby spasm321 » Thu Dec 09, 2004 4:56 am

I have noticed then when my friend who is on ichat either tries to send me a file,or i try to send him it never sends. There is no box indicates anything is being sent and on his comp it never stars sending process or he never receives anything. Also in relation to this i cannot direct connect with people. so i cannot put pictures in ims. Anybody else seem to be having these problems?

Welcome to the Forums!

Direct Connect isn't well supported yet in Adium X. File transfers can be snagged up by firewalls and many other obstacles so there's a good chance it's not getting through to try and do the transfer, thus why it doesn't ever do anything.

In Adium .72, you can check whether a file transfer is actually working by looking in the Console: /Applications/Utilities/Console.app. We log progress info there.

In .8, we will have an actual honest-to-goodness file transfer interface which indicates the progress of a transfer, allows you to cancel it, etc.!
