ICQ does not work

Hi!

I've successfully connected to Jabber and Googletalk using Adium 0.89.1. When I try to connect to ICQ though (login info is correct) it prompts me for a password (I enter my password). It keeps prompting me for my password altough it has it and reconnects until the server bans my IP for 10 minutes.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Has anyone else seen this? I'm having the exact same issue with AIM and ICQ and it's driving me crazy.

- Adium .89.1

i had the same problem some time ago with 0.89 (or 0.89.1, i don't remember): i changed the password for my icq account (which i have been using with adium for years) with the official icq client on windows (i could't find an option for it in icq for mac). when i tried to log in with adium again, the icq server just wouldn't accept the new password, although i was sure it was right. i then filled out the "forgot password" form on the icq site and got a new, randomly generated one via e-mail. that one worked again. i'm still using this passoword although they recommendet to change it.

but before you change your password, maybe you should try if signing in works with the adium 1.0 beta. i suspekt this problem might be related to some protocol changes. the adium beta however uses a newer version of libgaim which might have fixed the problem

thanks! i went to 1.0b20 and the problem no longer occurs, refreshing to actually login immediately again on the first try.
