For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to change my username for AIM. (not alias but username) It shows my first and last name, so I want to change it.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Are you saying you want to change your screenname, or remove your alias?

It's not possible to change your screenname from a messaging client, you'll need to register a new AIM name to change it...

thx for your response!

with AIM, there's an option to display alias and username (not screenname) and for some reason my username is my real first and last name which i don't remember ever disclosing to AIM/AOL....

now i'm trying to change my username (not screenname) to only display my screenname but i can't figure out how to do it =(

It's probably pulling your info from the Address Book, in which case nothing is disclosed to AOL. Check advanced prefs in Adium for various related settings.

thank you =) i have a macbook (not core2duo) and i LOVE it!! None of the 'known issue' stuff is going on and since I purchased mine, three of my friends bought one too. Huge apps --even the ones on Rosetta run so smooth. (I have the 2Ghz 1GB memory)

Anyway, another question. Since I upgraded to the 1.0 Beta, I can't seem to set my font! It reverts back to default everytime I hit enter... Noticed there was a ticket issued but does anyone know if it's been fixed yet?

Click Set as My Default Font in the font dialogue when you have it as you want. We got a lot of complaints about the font 'sticking' undesireably, so we made the act of telling Adium to keep using the current font more explicit,
