Less blinky

I use Growl with Adium, and frequently get a message that I don't need to respond to. But Adium sits there in the dock, blinking at me, begging for my attention. Perhaps it feels neglected, but I really just want to leave it in the background and keep working. And still it blinks. Eventually I get frustrated and bring it to the front, but by that time I'm annoyed with it.

What I suggest is the option to disable the blinking after a few seconds. A non-blinking indicator that there is an unviewed message would still be nice.

Somewhere in the preferences, it's there…

Really? I've pored over the prefs and haven't found it. I'm not talking about the icon bounce--I'm talking about the contact-name blinking on and off.

If it's in there, I'd appreciate any tips.

Oh!

I thought you meant the bouncing…

I can't use Adium on this computer right now, but I'm almost positive you can turn that off in the Dock preferences (where you change the icon). I believe there is an option to both stop the bounce and turn off contact names in the dock.

Indeed, in the Dock panel of the preferences, there are two options which control whose names show up in the dock.

In the next version, there will be a LOT more control over blinking and whatnot. It's a common request. :)

All together with Growl, Sounds, and all other events!
