Problems with chats?

I have the most up-to-date version of Adium (regular, not Beta). For some time now, I've been having trouble either starting or joining group chats. What actually happens is I will either go to "New Chat" or "Join Group Chat". I fill everything in, select "okay", and nothing happens. This is the same case when I receive and accept chat invitations, if they are successfully sent to me. I click "accept", and nothing happens. The chat room doesn't appear.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Or if it is a common problem that is being worked on?

What IM service are you using, and what version of Mac OS X?

I'm using AIM through Adium, and I have Mac OS X.

I don't know what the problem is sorry, maybe some one else will be able to help.

Also it helps to say which version of Mac OS X you have, such as 10.4.8

In the Apple Menu, go to About This Mac and it will be written underneath Mac OS X

I do have version 10.4.8.
