files automatically cancel halfway through while sending

Every time I do a file transfer threw Adium, about halfway through, it just cancels randomly. Is there any way to fix this?
Also, is there a way to make a profile on Adium?

File transfer doesn't really work very reliably (i.e. it almost always fails) in the current version of Adium. Try the beta or wait for 1.0. Personally I often switch to iChat for sending and receiving files.
If you mean an AIM profile, open Preferences, click the Accounts tab, double clikc on the account, select the Personal tab, and there you go. Not sure about other protocols.
