non-avatar buddys, service icons and the contact list...

is it possible to show something else than the service icons for non-avatar buddys in the contact list?

sure i can manually drag and drop a picture to everyones "get info" window, but then if one of them later sets an own avatar it won't be shown on my buddylist because i "overwrote" it.

i would like to have one of those silouettes (like in the yahoo! messenger beta) for them in my contact list instead of the service icons.

i first thought i just could make my own status icon set, which uses for every service the same (silouette-) picture. but since the service icons are not only used for the contact list, it would mess everything up.

any ideas?

i just figured out how it should work, but unfortunately it doesn't: i copied the silouette picture from the Y!M resources into the contact details in my adressbook (although there is already a similar one used by default) and set in the Adium advanced prefs "use adressbook pictures as contact icons" (i don't know the exact phrase, because i translated from german), while i didn't set "even when the contact already has a picture".
maybe the prefs are translated inaccurately, but as i understand them Adium now should use the picture i set in the addressbook, but only in case the contact has not set an own avatar, which would be exactly what i want. But now it shows my addressbook pictures for all contacts, even the ones who have an avatar.
does Adium behave like this by purpose or is it a bug?

now that's odd: Adium now shows the addressbook pictures all the time, i can't do anything against it. i uncheckt the preferences, restartet Adium several times, i deleted the pictures from the addressbook, i even tried using my yesterday's backup of the Adium 2.0 folder, but nothing helps, Adium won't show the users real avatars at all. seems like there's something really messed up with the prefs...

Thanks for all those replies. :P
I now made my own service-iconpack using the Adiumy silouette called DefaultIcon.png i found in the resources as the big service icons, while leaving the small ones as they were. Now the Buddylist is okay and that they are also used in the account settings is not too bad...
