saving conversations
saving conversations
hi, i would like to know if there is a way to save conversations like MSN or AIM allows? I tried searching in the forum and even the help for it, but to no avail. Help?

Re: saving conversations
In Preferences->Messages, there's an option to log all messages. The logs are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/Logs/service.username/. Not sure how much that path changes, depending on what "Default" means.SwissMiss wrote:hi, i would like to know if there is a way to save conversations like MSN or AIM allows? If you're asking how to save individual conversations, say, from the File menu, I'd be interested in hearing the answer, too

This is a way to definitely do it. How long do these logs stay in the log file? If it's only a temporary thing, then I could just copy and past into RTF file and save it into my own folder, but that's an extra step, versus the usual "save as" whenever I AIM.Son of a Preacher Man wrote:"Default" won't change under normal circumstances.
You can access the saved conversations with the log viewer (apple-L).
Speaking of "save as" why is this option grayed out for me? And yes, the goal is to be able to save individual conversations.
Thanks all.

If the "log messages" preference (Messages preferences in .7x) then they are saved permanently [well, until you delete them] and automatically.
Save as is grayed out because it is not implemented yet... though there's no real need for it with the Log Viewer in my opinion.
