And loses transparencyevands wrote:Pixels? AIM buddy icons have to be between 48x48 and 50x50 pixels. If you feed Adium an aniimated gif larger or smaller than that, it will get resized to the appropriate size and in the process will lose animation.laxstar wrote:is there a size limit for these gifs?

they seem to be a variety of sizes
4, 8, and 12KB
the ones that work are of 4 and 8KB. I got them from sites saying they were AIM buddy icons.
strangle, actually the info lists quite different numbers in bytes.
one that is 12KB is 4951 bytes
one that is 8KB is 6898 bytes...
I wish i could find exactly where i got them from.
edit:
actually i'm not sure what is going on now. I just quit and loaded the newest svn and two of the ones that i didn't think worked were loaded on sn's. Maybe it was a problem of updating the icons in my buddy list (which also happened to start behaving strangely: as in it wasn't removing buddies from the list as it disconnected and/or they disconnected).
Just asking cause I know this is not the case in the official client; is there any particular reason why Adium must disconnect to change buddy icon?
