Display pictures not updating in contact list

Using Adium .77 (so sorry if this is a known issue fixed in svn) -

The pictures in my contact list for people with pictures in my address book (read it slowly, it does make sense!) do not update properly upon opening Adium. They show the address book picture, and update to the user's current display picture only upon opening a chat window - but the update is immediate.

I assure you that whilst i do have "use address book images" on, I neither have "replace images" or "even if contact already has a picture" on.

Is it something gone wrong on my machine, or a bug?

IIRC this problem is not with Adium. I believe the new buddy icons are only sent to you by whatever protocol you're using when you initiate a chat with that person.

That's true with AIM, but I'm using MSN - I probably should have mentioned that.

Contacts not in my address book - or in my address book but without a picture - update just fine without me needing to open a chat window to them.

Incidentally, I just realised that it's not in fact just after opening Adium - the same problem seems to arise if they come online while I'm signed in, I just hadn't noticed.

Yeah, and I don't have any problems when I do that. But it does mean that some of my contacts don't have icons, because they haven't set a picture.

I am right in thinking that with my options set as they are, Adium should be giving Address Book contacts without a display picture their address book image instead, yeah?

i think so. if they have address book pic and no service pic, then it stays with the address book one.
