I'm new to adium and have trouble with two things.

1. Whenever I put up an away message I disappear off of everyone's buddy lists. How do I stop this from happening??

2. How do I add/delete buddies on my buddy list??

Hi there, welcome to the forums

For number 1, make sure you are indeed setting yourself as away, not as Invisible.

For number 2, go to the Contact menu, and select 'Add Contact..'
Alternatively, you can hit Apple Key-D.

I made sure that I wasn't set as invisible and I still don't appear on my friend's buddy lists when I go away.. Does anyone know how to help??

Also how do you check AIM user's profiles if they are not on your buddy list??

For your second question, if you're using Adium X 0.89.1, open a message window with that person, then click Contact > Get Info. If you use the beta version of Adium, you can get info for a contact without needing a message window, although sometimes you may find other bugs in the beta.
