Hi all,

I'm looking to create a chatbot using Adium hopefully. My vision is to have Adium signed in with an account, then I will be able to send an IM from another account to it and it will be able to react based on the message.

For example, I can send a message "volume up" and it will turn my mac's system volume up. In order to do this I need to be able to access the incoming messages, this doesnt matter whether its before or after being displayed.

If anyone knows any applesript or other info to help me do this that would be great.

I think you'd want to setup a plugin for this.

Yeah, I think thats plugin territory. I remember a thread a while back about applescripts being unable to read the content of the message (thus defeating this idea), but I'm sure a plugin could be written to change this.
