Every time I log on Adium using AIM (I don't use anything else), my buddy list is empty. I figured it just disappeared, but then I went to view>show offline buddies, and it showed every one of my buddies as offline. I tried it on iChat, and it did the same thing. (PS- I tried it with two different AIM screennames, same thing)
I downloaded AIM for mac (which SUCKS ) and it doesn't have this problem.
Anyone know how I can go about getting this fixed? I've re-downloaded adium, reverted to default preferences, everything.
I should probably mention this. It works fine at my friends house (on the same laptop/account/etc.). The router I have is not even plugged into a computer so it's not a security thing. My brother, who is on the same router, uses AIM on adium and it works fine for him. His account also works on my computer, but neither of my AIM accounts do.
Nevermind, I was wrong. My brother's s/n does not work when I try to sign on w/ it on my computer. I have an iBook G4, he has a MacBook. His s/n works find on his, we share the same internet.
...so it's something with the way my computer and internet are syncing up? Because my s/n, on my laptop, works at other people's houses.
Adium used to work fine on my old router, but I got a new one that I guess doesn't cooperate well with this computer, even though every other internet based application works fine.
Are there any settings I can tweak to work on this?
Can you try quitting adium and moving your ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 folder to the desktop? Then restart adium, you will have to readd your account, since you just moved all of your preference files. If after this it works correctly then you have encountered a corrupt file somewhere, if you have the same issue then we need to look for issues elsewhere.

I experienced this problem as well after purchasing a new router, Netgear WGT624v3. I removed my Adium 2.0 folder in user/library and encountered the same issue with no warning messages.
We've gotten reports of this from multiple sources this morning; Offhand I'd say the AIM servers are messing up, which will likely be corrected fairly soon.
I'm having the same problem right now, it usually happens every few months or so, and the way I'd fix it was to just quit out of Adium for an hour or so and then reopen it and it'd be fine.
