keeping MSN accounts separate

Post by User »

Why do one user that knows one of my accounts, see the other I'm using? I'd like to be able to separate different MSN accounts and can't see why they have to be mixed up....

What happened was I engaged in conversation on one account (1) and later obviously the other account (2) was visible to the user at the other end, because I got a mess on the account (2) not being used in the first conversation. Not good.

For some odd reason the message was listed as if from my account (2) TO the external user, but it was him that sent me message asking "who is this?". I'd consider this a serious bug in need of fixing.

So I have to keep 2 Adiums running now? Is there anything I can do to prevent this from reoccuring?

I blocked the user from account (2). Does this mean he's blocked from (1) as well? Where is the blocklist?

This question is about Adium, I'll move your thread to their forum.

Both these things are problems in 0.89.1 which should be resolved in Adium 1.0.

1. Be sure when you open a message to a contact that Adium shows you sending from the correct account in the menus at the top of the window; once you've set it how you want once, Adium will continue to use that account.

2. Adium menu->Privacy Settings (1.0 only).

See http://beta.adiumx.com for the 1.0 beta.
The duck still burns.
