Is it possible to save the icon shown in the Info panel of a contact? I'd like to be able to drag their picture to the desktop, or better still, straight onto the picture in an Address Book card.

I'd like this because I don't have AB pictures for some of my contacts, but they've set up icons for themselves on MSN/AIM etc.

If a dev could spare the time to point me in the right direction, I might be able to add the feature myself (I have 10+ years of C++ experience but only a little Objc/Cocoa experience)

it's possible without programmin experience: have that person talk to you
drag and drop the icon to where you want it

ifyou go to the options and then choose "advanced" there somewher ethere's an option to write to the adressbook.
If you enter the Instant Messenger name (email or whatever) then it gets updated automatically.
I use this and it works great (adium works great )

Thanks for the info. I'll try your first suggestion when I get a chance. At the very least, it might give me a clue as to how to do drag and drop of an image. I've worked out where the image data is stored, but with my current knowledge I'd have to link the saving code to an untidy button on the Info panel...

I knew about the Address Book transfer in the Advanced options, but I don't want to overwrite the AB icons of all my Adium contacts, only some of them.
