lost buddy?

Post by I like pie »

Somebody tried adding me as their aim buddy earlier. I'm sure that I said that I wanted to allow them, but I can't find their screen name anywhere on my contact list, and I've got display offline users enabled.

This is driving me nuts. Is there any sort of log to see which users tried to add you lately? I don't recall the person's exact screen name so I can't just message them.

No conversation exists as I believe I may have added them after they logged off. But their name should be stored somewhere shouldn't it?

AIM does not require authorization. So either they tried to add you on a different protocol, or you are thinking you saw something you did not.

Hmmm, you're right. In that case they had tried to send me a message, which does prompt a window to show up for me if they're not on my list.

So if I accept the message, wouldn't that "conversation" be logged somewhere? Even if it was just one line from them to me?

Yes, if you go to the window menu you can bring up the log viewer.

I looked at that before, and didn't see anthing from anybody knew... but now looking there I see it. Weird, I know I checked it at least twice... oh well, I see the name now.

Anyway, thanks. Turns out to be a yahoo contact anyway... didn't know yahoo sn could send to aim.
