iTunes Status (Adium 1.0 non-Beta)

With the new release of Adium 1.0 (congrats, guys), the Beta Forums are nowhere to be found.
So I'm posting this one here. I noticed an iTunes status on the Status menu. The Help files show nothing about that special status. I believe it's supposed to change your MSN display name (I'm only using MSN) into the current track or something.
Screenshot
When I switch to it with iTunes running, nothing happens. Am I supposed to change the display name into something with an iTunes token manually?
Does using Adium 1.0 Beta previously (before switching back to the latest 0.89 version and updating it to Stable 1.0) matter at all?
Sorry if I sound confusing. I tried searching for it here. Perhaps I missed something. Thanks.

The iTunes option makes a custom status of the current song being played. Since Adium doesn't support MSN's custom statuses the iTunes feature doesn't work with MSN sorry.
edit: You might want to look through the extras site (
http://www.adiumxtras.com) for an iTunes script that you can insert into your display name.

hmm but the "%_iTunes" script works fine on my MSN display name. Updates smoothly too.
is that the same thing you're talking about?

That's a big disappointment as I use MSN 99% of the time. What chat protocols does the iTunes song integration support then?

AIM does, not sure about the others.

The script supports any protocol, Adium will always replace your text. As far as i know, an MSN display name and the status we set in Adium are not the same thing.

Yeah their not the same thing. The %_itunes one is a script while the other is hard-coded.

MSN will behave like the others once we get personal message support.

I too was baffled by this - i.e. the function of it whatever the service is - it being the first time I've seen it given that my previous version was 0.89.1. My girlfriend & I have both MSN and Jabber accounts and we didn't see our respective tracks when we tried this. It turned out that this was because she only connects MSN at start up whilst I have both kick in. I'm looking forward to MSN having "Personal Message Support" - whatever that is - so that others with Adium that I chat with can enjoy this feature. (If only everyone had a Jabber account!) I can't advise which other services work with this as I don't use any. What a shame the documentation doesn't cover this and thank goodness for the forum!

Please file a Trac ticket for enhancements to the documentation.

Hi all,
I have the same problem with Adium X 1.0 and mac.com Account.
A friend of me use iChat. He can't see the iTunes Song in iChat when I set my status to "iTunes".
Is this a know problem?
Sorry for my bad english, I'm from germany :-)
