Display aliases instead of email-adresses

Post by borisbez »

Hi there,

I have a problem with Adium 1.0. I'm using it to communicate with my friends, using MSN. In my contact-list, I see people's email adresses. I don't want to see them. I'd like to see just there aliases. I just can't find in in the preferences, and I've been looking for three quarters right now.

Also when a user comes online, there's a Growl message in the top (right), which says "email.adres@hotmail.com has signed on. ". This is not what I would like to see.

I hope you get my point.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

Boris

You have Show Display Names as Statuses enabled. Change that in Preferences->Advanced->MSN.
The duck still burns.

Thanks! This is exactly what I wanted! I just "read beside it", as we say in Holland (don't know the good translation).

Thanks :-)

Adium rocks!

I don't know where I can submit new idea's for Adium, (and I haven't looked for it yet), but BB-code might be fun :-) You know what I mean, like this is bold, and this is italic. Some new versions of (*blegh*) Microsoft Messenger (*blegh*) support it.

Greetings again,

:D

You can type Cmd-B and Cmd-I to bold and italicize text.
