One of my favorite features since I started using Adium was the way the duck's eyes would turn red in the upper right-hand corner when a new message was received. It was one of the features that I bragged about to all of my friends, because it was so awesome. Sure, they all made fun of me while they used AIM on their PCs, but I knew better.

Anyhow, I just happily updated to Adium 1.0, clapped and cheered for a bit at this momentous occasion, and then my heart sank ever so slightly.

I've searched and not found a way to toggle this feature on or off. Can I ever get it back? That'd be really cool…

I think this could help you: Default Adium Menubar.

As of 1.0, the icon for "new content" does not exist in the menu bar. It will just add the badge for new messages.
