Upgraded to 1.0 this weekend. This morning when I launched Adium it gave me a popup window. All it said was:
Contact Alert
David Turley
9:31 AM
What's this all about? Seems to me I don't need to be alerted as to what my own name is :-) (Even if it is post-Superbowl Monday)

Has it happened again since?

jabber. Repeats anytime I log back in to jabber.

Sounds like you have a custom action set on the event of your contact logging in... check the Get Info window for yourself on your contact list, in the Events tab.

evands,
I don't see myself on my contact list. :-/ When I look at the events tab in preferences, for the option "You connect" all I have set is "Play the sound Welcome"
This is more perplexing than annoying, but still I'd like to solve it. :-)

Try using Contact->Get Info on Contact... to pull up a get info window for yourself directly.

I did that right after posting, hadn't gotten a chance to edit. No events at all are set.
I did discover that it's not jabber but the yahoo account that's causing it. I forgot I I had that account logging in. I have no contacts but only use it for mail checking. I've checked event setting for that user account and nothing is set.
Perplexed.

Try renaming ~/Library/Application Supprt/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/Contact Alerts.plist to something else, while Adium isn't running.

Okay, I did that and rese my event settings, and it seems to have cured the problem.
Thanks much, I hate having little annoyances like that. :-)
