Changing text background doesn't work

Changing text background doesn't work

When writing a message, there is always a light blue color behing black text.
I can change this, but after sending the message, the blue backgroung appears again.
What can I do? I want black text on a white background.

In the Font panel, after you make a change, click Save This Setting As My Default Font. Does that work?
