I simply can not hear any sounds from anything in adium-sending messages reciving them, contacts siging on and off-nothing-did a reinstal, tried different schemes nothing-i know its adium because i can hear music from my speakers-i dont know when it started to happen but it was within the last few weeks but I am not sure

any ideas?

Please make sure the adium sound volume is not all the way down. To check go into the preferences>Events and you should then see the volume slider.

Next, check your Alerts sounds in the System Preferences->Sounds.
