Adium Crashing

Post by LuckyDiscovery »

I recently updated adium, and for some reason, the new version crashes several times a day. I don't know why, but then when I downgrade to the next lowest one, it's fine.

But I like the features of the new adium. Why is it doing this, and can i prevent it?

When the crash reporter appears after a crash, it asks for some information; we can use that to search for your report in the crash database.

Post by Sunlite »

I've just downgraded hoping it'll solve my issues as the new version keeps crashing on me, it's terrible :(
It should have crash reports under the name suesunlite, sorry to hijack this but it's the same issue.
Thanks

LuckyDiscovery, I can't find any crash logs submitted under your name. Are you sure you've sent them with that listed as the IM name? If not, how are they listed. At this point there's no telling if your crash is the same or not.

Mine appears to be working great now, so far no issues, thanks so much. I do have a question as this morning I had a pop up message saying that there's a new upgraded version and did I want to upgrade as there's all this improvements and bug changes. I chose not to as I figured it's the version I just changed that was crashing. First am I correct and second, what I'm currently using, is it stable to stay with it?

You're right, and don't tell it to upgrade. The version checking code just thinks that "1.0" is newer than "1.0-nostrip", since normally a release would be newer. It's stable to stay where you are.
