Turning "false" AIM logs into ICQ logs?

In my log viewer I have a lot of chat logs from ICQ contacts that has been recorded as AIM logs. Since I only have these contacts on my ICQ list and only listed in Address Book as ICQ contacts, these logs aren't combined with the correct contact.
I know ICQ and AIM nowadays are the same protocol (right?) so I guess Adium is logging some (but not all) conversations as AIM logs, although it's a chat between to persons using ICQ and the contact is only on my ICQ contact list.
To fix this, should I open an AIM account in Adium with my ICQ number and then add these contacts to that AIM account? Or would that just mess up things even more. Or should edit the contact info in the Address Book so everyone that has ICQ also has the same number as AIM? Or is there another way to merge these AIM logs with their ICQ logs?
I've search to forums and trac but couldn't find an answer to this, forgive me if this has already been discussed.
