Soooo slow

Post by AnneMarieke »

I upgraded to adium 1.0 last week, but eversince my computer gets soooo slow as soon as someone signs in I have to wait almost a minute before any program responds.
I have adium 1.0 on a intel mac with the latest OS X available.
I think the problem may be caused by the random buddy icon script I use, or growl, but even if I throw it out it is still very slow.

I miss the old version of Adium. My MSN friends appear offline and still send me messages but I cant reply, sometimes my list doesnt appear, or I am offline but still receive messages.
But I hate most the slowing of my system, it is so annoying as I have some people who log in log out log in log out etc, I cant do my work with Adium on!

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Do you have VoiceOver turned on? If so, there's an issue Evan fixed for 1.0.1 (which will beta soon) that causes performance problems.

What is voice over? I dont know what it is so I doubt it that it is turned on... If it is controlled by the preference pane, it isnt on.

VoiceOver is an accessibility technology provided in Mac OS X 10.4 from Apple that speaks the contents of what's on screen. It is turned on in System Preferences' Universal Access preference pane.
Try my software!
