Superbuddies

I think that Adium should be able to view AIM superbuddies. I heard there was a way to do that with iChat, maybe there is a way so that Adium could do it. I also think that AIM Buddy, sounds should be able to be heard with Adium.

it makes support less likely due to the dramatically smaller subset of users.

And final nail in the coffin:

AOL has been embedding Viewpoint's graphics engine in its software since America Online version 7.0, released in 2002

It uses a proprietary engine owned by a company and shipped by AOL in their software. Reverse-engineering such a complex set of dependencies for a subscriber-only feature won't happen.
