Connection error from Notification server:?

Post by bkpr »

Hi all...

As soon as I upgrading to 1.0.1, I get the follwing message when trying to connect:

"myemail@hotmail.com (MSN) : Error
Connection error from Notification server:
Writing error"

All my contacts are on MSN, as am I. I couldn't find any info in the forums, other than someone saying it sounds like its on the MSN/hotmail side, and I should just wait for a while them to fix it. Could it just be a coincidence?

OS X - 10.4.8

Cheers!

i imagine this has happened to many others, i'm having the same problem: when i'm hardwired to my LAN at home, everything connects normally and instantly; however, when I attempt to log on in a university library with a wireless network, none of my accounts sign in (AIM, yahoo, MSN, etc.) they each display a similar message to what was posted earlier. i suspect it might have something to do with it being a network that requires password authentication to access ... does Adium not log into passworded wifi ? i'd really like to sign in, and most of the wifi around me aren't public ... it would be great if Adium could display a prompt asking for a username and password for access to wifi if it's requested ... and it would be even better if the login info could be used for all accounts (accross all the different protocols i might be trying to sign in) ...

I had no issues connect5ing through WiFi previously... so I'm not sure that's the issue.
