I have always had that problem, but a resize fixed it, is it actually a bug?

Yes, because I never make my message windows wide enough to show it all. Nice to know I'm not the only one who really is that anal. :)

It's a bug. It's not supposed to be their. It's purely cosmetic, and therefore not immediately important to the Admins, but it should go on the to-do list.

The various ways to do metacontacts have been greatly discussed... this thread seems to have a pretty good list of the ideas. I might add that I find Gaim's method pretty sensible, and intuitive enough that I stumbled upon it without purposefully looking for it.

For some reason, nothing at all happens when I click the - (or the +) buttons..

I'll check that link out, tho..

You can also "split up" a metacontact by dragging one of the contained contacts from the drawer in the Get Info window, back onto the contact list.
