Again, these are the conditions. 100% reproducible for me.
Dock on Right edge
Adium buddy list on Right edge
Dock set to Not hide
Adium set to have buddy list Hide On Screen Edge

Have you tried those exact conditions and gotten it to not happen? I am confused as to what could possibly be the reason I can 100% duplicate this on every machine I tried, and no one else has?

My biggest mistake was for a long time saying the Dock was set to hide. In fact, the problem occurs when the Dock is NOT hidden but the buddy list IS hidden (against an edge), and they are both on the same edge...

Exact same conditions, no reproduction. Bugs aren't necessarily obvious even if they seem to be. It's not for lack of trying on our part to reproduce.

Assuming 1.0.2, correct?

It has always been for me with the latest, and still occurs in 1.0.2

I hope we can finally get down to the bottom of it....

Thanks all!

Yes, using 1.0.2 on OS 10.4.9, hiding on the right edge with the dock on the right edge (unhidden), Regular Window style.

Can someone make a video of this, or a screenshot of it? That'll help with all the language barriers over the last 10 or so posts.

Got it. Easily reproducible now given the below.

The problem is the window style, specifically the regular window style.

Note the subtler interaction of the bug itself, not just in contact list hiding but in the combination of Dock and list location as well as the specific window style.

sorry, i figured the default window style would be a given...... I mean, it is the default.......

And the misreporting of the Dock hiding was what caused me not to reproduce it before when I did go through all five window styles and couldn't get it to break.

You can't assume when reporting issues :)

ANyway, now it has been found, and I assume the fix is already in, since you guys rock - and I am eagerly awaiting 1.0.3!

You know that old saying - never assume... ;)

(isolating helps a developer to know what to look for, but doesn't guarantee a fix or release)
